Day 21: Leighton Buzzard to Slapton

An early (well, for us) start from Leighton and to take on water and dispose of our refuse and recycling.

After a short while, we come across a boat completely blocking the canal

A passing boater on his way from the shops told us he'd already rescued this boat three times! The owners are in the habit of leaving it insecurely tied and going off for a week at a time. Closer inspection showed that the middle rope was trailing in the water and could be hooked up

Jan managed to hook up the ropes - the middle still with its three pins attached and the bow with one - and with the boater's help pull the boat in

Denis then wielded the lump hammer and repositioned the pins so the boat was secure

A peaceful Zen like ambience here as we start to look for a mooring
